Check your website from seven locations.
Choose the outside view that matters to your visitors. Pulse offers four United States locations, one in Canada and one in Australia, with a separate selection for every website.
Los Angeles, USA
A West Coast view of your public website.
Utah, USA
A western US location to compare with coastal results.
Iowa, USA
A central US perspective for your monitoring coverage.
New York, USA
An East Coast view to compare against the western and central probes.
New Jersey, USA
A second East Coast view from a separate provider and network, useful for comparing against the New York location.
Montreal, Canada
A Canadian location that adds another regional observation.
Sydney, Australia
An Asia-Pacific view for visitors outside North America.
How to choose locations
When you add or edit a monitor, select the locations you want to use. New monitors select all seven by default. Choose multiple locations when you want independent confirmation; selecting just one gives you only that location’s perspective. These are probe locations, not a promise that every internet provider or visitor follows the same network path.
Why one location may fail while another succeeds
DNS answers, routing, hosting restrictions, and firewall or bot-protection rules can differ across requests. A regional failure is evidence to investigate, not automatic proof that the website is unavailable everywhere. Compare the per-location result with your hosting and security logs.
Pulse shows disagreement as degraded. By default, its confirmed outage email requires failure from all selected locations in two complete consecutive windows; confirmation counts are configurable from one to five. A missing or disabled location can leave the result unknown instead of establishing an outage. See the alert confirmation rules.
Handle blocked checks carefully
If a monitor receives an unexpected 403 or 503 while your browser works, check whether the response comes from your application, CDN, or a security challenge. Share the timestamp and location with your hosting provider. Do not disable your firewall broadly just to make a monitoring result green. Contact support@aod.net for current probe details if a narrow exception is needed.
Know what geographic monitoring can tell you
These checks reveal how a public HTTP request behaves from the selected probes. They do not measure every customer connection, mobile network, or full browser experience. Use the monitoring guide to choose the right page and interpret response times and coverage.
